* Do you always feel floated after eating?

If you are answer is "YES" most of them, we'll you have been eating your meal "wrong" Excuse me, what do I mean by that, the truth is that many of us feel discomfort, bloated, and sluggish after a meal. We think that it's normal, in fact, it is not a normal when you eat your meal correctly, you should feel energized instead of sluggish. Did you know that digesting food required more energy than any other functions in the human body. Hence, in your body digestive system is functioning at its optimal, it effects entire being. We want to digest food as quick and efficient as possible.

Let me share something with you that can be changed the way you eat and feel. It is principal of food combining. So before we go to describe let's have a look what is food combining exactly mean.


     What is food Combining?


    Food combining is a little known secrete for promoting guts health and improves your digestion. This provides your body with right fuel and energy and can also loss weight.

    So, as much as I can I have been followed this principle, and they help my guts health tremendously, so, I did behind the food combining that a certain food pair well together, which other do not, as different food digest at different rates in our body and require different environments.

    Food combining refer to eating or not eating certain food together in the same sitting to achieve optimal digestion. This principle is not about resting food itself, but, rather it is the awareness of knowing how to choose and what to eat a single meal.

    Before we get into the guidelines of food combination let's first understand how digestion works in our body. Let's talk about Acid and Alkaline Enzyme, which are responsible to do our body to digest the food we eat. Let's also look protein vs Carbohydrate. Protein required an ACIDIC ENVIRONMENT to digest with acidic digestive enzymes, while carbohydrates required an ALKALINE ENVIRONMENT with alkaline enzymes. Your typical types of heir, meet and starch in one meal. For example, you might enjoy peace of Starch together with Potatoes or Chicken with rice, protein and carbohydrate opposite digestive requirement and eating them together cause your body released both acid and alkaline solution. The acid and alkaline solution will neutralize each other which can slow down digestion and cause post meal sluggishness or bloating, this is because your body is using up more energy digesting than it's needed. Hence, understanding principles of food combining can have support the health your entire guts.

    FOOD COMBINING PRINCIPLES

    1. Do not combine Protein with Starch in a Meal 


     As you know now to be digested protein needs on acidic environment which is why it is considered to be a bad combination to eat protein and starch in a meal. Instead, of consumed protein with non-starchy vegetables such as leafy greens, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, cucumbers, bell paper, onion and more. This vegetables are own enzymes. Hence, they don't need the alkaline environment for digestion because of that they would not interfere the acidic environment required protein. This principle also applied to plant protein such as bean and pea etc. So this was a good combination like Salmon with broccoli and carrots, chicken with kale and cauliflower, Tofu with bell pepper, onion, celery.

    2. Pair Starch with Healthy Fats and Non-Starchy Vegetables 


    Starch such as brown rice, Quinoa, barley along with starchy vegetables such as corn, potato and pumpkin need an alkaline environment for digestion. So this is a good combination like Bake Potato(Starch) with Avocado(Healthy Fats) bell pepper, broccoli, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes(Non Starchy)Quinoa and pumpkin(Starch) with nuts and seeds(Healthy Fats), Leafy Green, Cherry Tomato(non Starchy), Brown Rice(Starch) with coconut oil(Healthy Fats) and cauliflower, celery, onion(non starchy).

    3. Leafy Green and Non-Starchy Vegetables go well with every food 


    They contain their own digestive enzymes and can be paired with any food without causing a traffic jam in your Gastrointestinal track. If you totally confused with the food combining rows to give it simple, choose a single micro nutrient whether it's protein, starch, healthy fat with leafy green or none starchy vegetables.

    4. Eat Fruit Alone


    Fruit is a simple sugar that digest very rapidly it takes only 20-30 minutes, for digestion, whereas protein takes 3 to 4hrs to digest. Now if you combine fruit and protein in the single meal it can create chaos in your Gastrointestinal(GI) tract because of different times need for the food to be digested that is why it is also best to avoid eating fruit right after meal. Since fruit digest faster than another food they are best to eaten alone. So that do not have a chance to ferment. As I mentioned earlier, fermentation in your GI tract make you feel bloated and gassy. So it best to consume fruit ALONE.

    5. Avoid drinking water with your meal.


    Water can diluted your digestive fluids which can slow down digestion. Now, before knowing this, I used to drink lots of water with my meals, I would feel extremely bloated and even experience stomach pain. If you really need water have a small sip of water with your meals and try to drink more of your water way from your meal. You can also eat your digestion by drinking lemon water 20-30 minutes before your meals. Lemon contains Ascorbic Acid which can stimulate digestion. I drink a lemon water on an empty stomach in the morning.

    Now, the really is not enough the Scientific Research to back the food combining principle. That the reason why I am sharing this article because it has worse to me and someone who is extremely sensitive guts and even a small trick can caused me to a few bloated, gassy, constipated and experience extremely stomach discomfort. The go of food combining is to improve digestion, to increase energy level, improve the absorption of nutrients and it can also help in the weight loss.

    Should you try to this, the next time you experience digestive distress just takes a look your plate and see it you are combining the wrong foods together. Try to apply this principle and starts to take to know on how your body reacts and feel. This will be the magical solution for a healthy well-being.
